Q. How long are the courses?

A. 8 weeks, one class per week.

Q. How long is each class?

A. One hour.

Q. How much is each course?

A. All 8 Week Courses are $600, BAT classes are $75+ an hour.

Q. What is Force Free?

A. Force free means I never use pain, force, or adverse training equipment such as prong collars and shock collars.

Q. What is the CCPDT?

A. The Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers® (CCPDT®), established in 2001, is the leading independent certifying organization for the dog training profession. The CCPDT is the leader in the development of rigorous exams to demonstrate mastery of humane, science-based dog training practices. Thousands of dog training professionals worldwide maintain the CCPDT’s certifications as a mark of high professional distinction.

Q. What is CGC?

A. The Canine Good Citizen program, established in 1989, is an American Kennel Club program to promote responsible dog ownership and to encourage the training of well-mannered dogs. Certifications are given to those who pass the test.

Q. What if I need to reschedule?

A. Please give the trainer 24 hour notice if rescheduling need to be done. If notice is given with less than a 24 hour notice, a $50 cancellation fee will need to be paid at the beginning of the next class. If sick, there is no time frame to let the trainer know you need to reschedule a class. Just let the trainer know you or a family member is sick and there will be no cancellation fee. 

Q. Can I stop classes and get refunded?

A. Classes can be canceled at any time. Refunds will only be issued if canceled before the start of the second class.

Q. Can I still enroll a dog who has a bite history?

A. Yes.

Q. What is the homework like?

A. Homework for courses are to be done 10mins a day, no more than 3 times a day.

Q. Are there payment plans available?

A. Yes. Payment can be split. Half of the payment due at the start of the first class and the second half paid at the start of the 5th class.

Q. Will I need to buy anything for class?

A. No, but I highly suggest getting a treat pouch, treats and a training leash. When it comes to halters, leashes and gentle leaders, I provide them during class for you to try out with your dog.

Q. Why are there no group class options for Basic Obedience and Puppy Prep?

A. Group classes can create distractions while learning new cues. It also encourages socializing while on leash, which can lead to reactive dogs while on walks. Give a Sit trainers like to give their full attention to each dog and owner to make sure your getting all you can from each class. Advanced students may be enrolled in a group setting.

Q. What if I have multiple dogs who need to be trained?

A. Course training can have up to 2 dogs from the same house hold. The cost of the course will be raised by $50 for any additional dog enrolled in a course.
